Sunday 29th Funday

Sunday was my 29th birthday.  It was nice to have a happy baby in the morning. Hawk got dressed in Denver Bronco colors and he crawled right over to his book shelf.

He pulled off a few books and settled on one.

He chose Colors.  He did a mouth test first.

He flapped his legs up and down for approval. 

Upon further review, he decided he would like to read it.

I helped him open the book,

but he can turn the pages by himself.

We went out for a Sunday stroll. I rode my bike, so Alan had to take Hawk and Slug.

Hawk turned a bit grumpy later in the afternoon, but overall it was a very nice birthday.

Discovery Bird

It is so fun to see how everything is so interesting to Hawk.  He wants to grab everything and see what it feels like and then see what it feels like in his mouth.  He notices new furniture arrangements and always chooses the new toy to play with or new item in a room to lunge towards.  Thankfully our house continues to change so he is pretty interested in our unpacking, decorating and updating projects.

I tried to get a good picture of the three of us to send to Alan on Monday night.  

Hawk does love watching and being close to Slug.  He will sometimes giggle just when Slug sticks out his tongue.

My hair is always up because Hawk will grab like two strands and pull.  It is not fun for me.

Slug did not mind.  I washed Hawk's hands after and no stray hairs entered his mouth. 

Hawk is 7 months old today

Hawk and Alan got to spend a little time together before work this morning. 

His yellow tie was something to chew on.

This is his cooing face.  Hawk is not ready yet either.  He is still in his underwear and has a little bed head.

Hot Summer Days

Our upstairs air conditioner was not working this weekend. Hawk and I camped out in his playroom downstairs.  I took this picture when I woke up to him banging on his car seat. The green is his crib mattress and the blue is pillows.  I tried to use other items to contain him.

Saturday swim day at Gramma and Grandpa's

He woke up several times sleeping downstairs Friday, so we tried upstairs Saturday. He liked it! He slept from 8:00-6:30 without waking up. 

Sunday I let him fall asleep downstairs then moved him up. He worked off half of his diaper.  It must have been much hotter than Saturday, because he awakened around 8:00 very hot and upset. We moved downstairs and he got up several times all night.  This weekend was a sleep study that shows birds like their own nest. 

The air was fixed yesterday and he slept from his usual 7:15pm - 6:45am.  He did get up for his normal 10:00pm feeding.
