Hawk Walked!

This photo has nothing to do with the glorious event.

Last night around Hawk's bedtime, 7:30, Alan and I were hanging out with Hawk in his room. He was playing with toys and crawling over us as usual.  Then he dropped what he was doing and crawled straight over to his dresser.  He opened the bottom two drawers. And just like it was his plan the whole time, he stood up using the top drawer for support. He made sure we were both watching, let go of the drawer and took several steps covering about 12" of the carpet! It was great.  He then fell into his usual landing crawl position.  Alan and I cheered and clapped for him.  We cheered, "Good job Hawk!"  We hugged and patted him.  He was very excited and proud of himself.  He got on his knees and did a little bouncing and arm flapping with a big smile on his face. It was so wonderful to watch.

Iowa Visit

"I like it Granny"
Hawk playing with little cars
Eating lunch with Great Grandpa Dewey
Alan and Zade
Aspen & Tate
Alan and I traded kids with Alan's sister, Jill and her husband, Dave.  We took their kids to a movie, dinner and ice cream.

Alan and Zade saw Anchor Man 2.  Alan did not like the movie.

Aspen, Tate and I saw Frozen.  I loved It! It was like the old Disney movies that I liked when I was little.  It had princesses with magical powers, horses, and castles. The scenes were beautiful and the songs were catchy.  I would watch it again.
Hawk riding the Gator with John & Mitch. Hawk held on while they pushed him back and forth.

We had a great time!

Hawk's New Facial Expression

This open mouth accompanied by a low whispery grunting sound means he likes something or is excited. This seems to have replaced the scrunchy-face with fast breathing through his nose.  He is holding part of a magazine that he just ripped off and wants to give to me.
He still loves his baths and is very active during them. Aunt Mal sent the cool whale spout cover to protect against head bumps.  It works great and is a really cool design. The knob that switches the water from shower to bath sticks out of the blow hole.
This is Hawk excited about playing in my closet.  I have been borrowing his step stool to reach the higher shelves. He likes to remove all of the wooden letters.

He has a very upbeat personality.  It's fun when he lets us know what he really likes.

Swinging in the Park

You only need one shoe to swing. I just really want him to wear those yellow Chuck Taylors before they get too small.
He enjoyed the fresh air blowing in his face.
It was about 55 degrees Saturday so Mallory and I took Hawk to the park.
